Since they’re able to dramatically improve both the health and appearance of smiles, there are plenty of people out there who could benefit from braces. With that said, many don’t pursue orthodontic treatment because they don’t want to deal with “metal mouth.” That’s why Dr. Holland is so excited to be able to offer a more aesthetically-friendly alternative: ceramic braces (sometimes called “clear braces”). With them, patients can enjoy the best of everything: a reliable treatment that’s able to fix any orthodontic problems as well as a subtle look that blends seamlessly into the smile.

Why Choose Ortega Orthodontics for Ceramic Braces?

  • Discreet appearance, but just as reliable as metal braces
  • Dual-board certified orthodontist
  • Happy to treat patients of all ages

How Do Ceramic Braces Work?

Just like with traditional braces, a wire is placed over each row of teeth with ceramic braces, which applies a consistent force that slowly moves them into the correct positions. However, what makes clear braces special is the materials used to make them. Instead of gray metal, the brackets are a clear ceramic material, and the wires are tooth-colored. Not only that, but the brackets are also flat and sit flush against the teeth. The end result is that the appliance has a much less obvious appearance, helping patients feel less self-conscious about their treatment.

Bite Misalignment

Good news: ceramic braces in Jacksonville can correct several common bite problems, including overbites, underbites, and crossbites. So, don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment with Dr. Holland if you are struggling with any of these bite problems. That way, he can let you know if you’re a good fit for clear braces.

Crowded & Crooked Teeth

Do your teeth crowd together to the point that they overlap? If so, you already know how difficult it can be to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Fortunately, ceramic braces are usually an option for patients with mild to moderate cases of overcrowding. If that’s the case for you, then your orthodontic treatment will be much more discreet.

Gapped Teeth

Is there a noticeable gap between your two front teeth that makes it difficult for you to smile with confidence? If so, you may not have to wear metal braces. After all, ceramic braces have helped countless patients in the same boat!
